    A SLIGHT BREEZE

Is blowing over the Cedar Berg Mountains. At dawn we set off by jeep from Clansville, 250 km west of Cape Town, not on safari, but instead to watch the rooibos harvest. This barren but also impressive landscape is the only home of this undemanding red bush, which requires neither irrigation nor fertilization. Finally, we drive down a gravel slope to the farm. Upon arrival there, we are greeted most cordially and over a cup of rooibos tea, Joe, the Foreman, explains how the strictly controlled and extremely healthy rooibos tea is made from the delicate branches of the rooibos bushes.

A drink for all the family

In South Africa they have known for ages what we are slowly wizening up to: Rooibos is the ideal beverage for the whole family! Healthy, caffeine free and delicious, this red herbal infusion is definitely making its way into the spotlight in Europe as well. Unlike some sugar-laden soft drinks, it won´t ruin your kids´teeth, either!

    DID YOU KNOW...

that the age of the Tea Clipper only lasted from 1840 until 1886? After China had granted the free trade of tea, competition increased and with it the need to speed up transportation to England, in order to achieve the best tea prices. At the height of its day, the Windjammer’s record journey time from Canton to London was just 99 days!
